The Organization
What is foring?
foring was founded in Germany in 2004 and is an independent and not-for-profit organisation with members from 15 different countries. foring stands for the German name "Forum für Internationale Gesundheit" and means Forum for International Health.
Why was foring founded?
There are many organizations in the field of development and humanitarian aid. However, far too often they work against each other rather than together. Resources are wasted rathen than utilized together in a better way and quality and sustainability of the aid are not considered. Furthermore, the work and cooperation in countries with "limited resources" are experiencing the increasing necessity of professionalism. Not only an idealistic attitude but also professional training and continuing education are required for those who want to get involved in practical work and research in this field. Together with our partner, we want to address these issues.
What are our objectives?
We want to improve the quality of the health care work in the field of development and humanitarian aid. We provide a platform to facilitate access to information regarding professional training. Our members get the opportunity to share their experience in the field of international and global health. By building up a network of societies, organizations and institutes, we also want to facilitate cooperation in this regard.
